Expansion of Lab Capabilities

The Forensic Science Program is expanding our lab capacity to increase the hands-on experiences for students.
During summer 2025, the DNA (post-amp) lab is increasing in size and adding new instruments for PCR (Veriti Pro), qPCR (QuantStudio 5), and capillary electrophoresis (SeqStudio Flex). We're also increasing software licenses for GeneMapper ID-X. These purchases will support our growing enrollment and give students more extensive experience with instruments used in forensic DNA laboratories. Students will be using the expanded capabilities for coursework and research starting in the Fall 2025 semester.
On the drug chemistry and toxicology side, we have increased our HPLC instrumentation.
And we're not stopping there. In 2028, we'll be expanding again, as we , along with Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Nursing.
