Damen Legacy Fellowship
The Damen Legacy Fellows program is an 18-month cohort-based formation program that invites those committed to the work of Jesuit education to a deeper understand of what that entails through a variety of means. Modeled after a program offered by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU), Mission Integration wanted to provide a localized version that could extend into areas throughout the university. The program begins in January and concludes in the following May/June.
Fellowship Goals
- The cohort will meet monthly throughout three semesters to intellectually engage with readings, topics, and speakers with depth and discussion (no meetings over the summer).
- Each participant will commit to participating in one of the spirituality offerings listed below
- Attend the Ignatian Contemplation Retreat (2-night silent retreat)
- Participate in the full 19th annotation of the Spiritual Exercises over the course of an academic year
- Meet monthly with a spiritual director for a year of the program
- Each participant will attend a local immersion trip in Chicago over Fall Break, visiting other Jesuit apostolates throughout the city and engaging in group development.
- The grand finale of the program concludes with a pilgrimage to Spain and Rome to walk the steps of Ignatius.
